The County of Los Angeles’ Zev Yaroslavsky Family Support Center project. With multiple awards already, the project team was presented with the prestigious “Regional Excellence” and “Design Excellence” Awards. Regional Excellence exemplifies the principles of interdisciplinary teamwork, innovation and problem solving, “breaking new ground” in their approach and accomplishments. By showcasing design-build best practices, teaming techniques, contracting methods, and ways to drive innovation, winner of National Design-Build Project/Team Award delivered examples to the rest of the industry on how to achieve Design-Build Done Right.
Design Excellence honors projects that achieve an owner’s overall aesthetic and functional vision through outstanding design. ZYFSC, comprised of a new 212,000 square-foot, five-story facility design build project. The project consists of office and meeting space, for various social service civic departments, parking garage and improvements to the main interior campus. The project achieved LEED gold certification a level above the project requirement of LEED silver.
NGi’s scope included utilization of BIM process, interior/exterior framing, fireproofing, drywall, lath and plaster.
