Nevell Group Inc. Wins Two Project of the Year Awards from the Western Wall & Ceiling Contracto

The Walter F. Pruter Awards recognize projects that exemplify the union construction work of a WWCCA contractor and serves to highlight how the scope of work that the association’s members provide contributes to the overall success of a project. Projects are judged by overall design, quality of workmanship and the use of materials specific to the WWCCA trades.

This year NGI won for their work on the Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance in the Exterior Renovation category and Monte Cedro Assisted Living for Multifamily mixed use category. Both projects presented the NGI team with challenges including the breakthrough design.

The Del Amo Fashion Center project is a renovation and remodel of 2.4 million square foot Retail Mall. features interior spaces bathed in daylight by a 102,000 square foot ceiling with curvilinear clerestory and skylights, some 65 feet above the finished floor. Every part of the ceiling curved, some so slight the curve was barely visible, while others rose sharply as they circled around an opening.

The Monte Cedro project is a New, Design Assist 4 separate senior living residential buildings.
